Job Description & Responsibilities
The Business Analyst/Gas Scheduling is an individual contributor responsible for providing technology and business services to Great Basin Gas Transmission Company (Great Basin) within the Interstate Pipelines Department. This position offers an excellent opportunity to play a vital role in the enhancement and support of critical software applications utilized by Great Basin’s Scheduling and Regulatory groups. The position will report to the Manager/Great Basin Gas Scheduling. The role includes working closely with Interstate Pipelines and internal and external IS partners to develop strategic business process improvements, resolve critical system issues, and perform in-depth analysis using Quorum’s Pipeline Transaction Management system (QPTM). In addition, the Business Analyst will use the Quorum Query Module (QQM) database to build and maintain custom reports and data extracts from the system to support both Interstate Pipelines and external customers.
POSITION DIMENSIONS
The incumbent does not have accountability for personnel or budgets. The incumbent may provide work direction to Gas Scheduling team members. There are clear precedents and practices that the incumbent uses as guidelines to determine how this job is performed. The incumbent very frequently exchanges information with senior management, other Interstate Pipeline employees, internal IS partners, and external IS partners. Frequently, the incumbent will influence management within and outside of Gas Scheduling.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Serve as the Quorum QPTM and QQM system administrator for the Great Basin Scheduling Department, and primary liaison connecting Great Basin’s business departments with internal and external technical teams.
- Track and manage QPTM system defects to resolution using Salesforce, serving as the key point of contact between Great Basin and the Quorum support team.
- Evaluate programs and systems used in the gas scheduling and regulatory functions to ensure compliance with NAESB and FERC standards, and Great Basin’s FERC Gas Tariff.
- Design and build queries, views, and reports using QQM, for both internal use and for external customers.
- Develop, execute, and manage testing scripts and activities prior to the deployment of system patches and upgrades to Production.
- Identify, gather, and develop requirements for system enhancements and functionality to improve system capabilities and functionality for the Interstate Pipelines Department Gas Scheduling and Regulatory areas.
- Work with Quorum’s Customer Advisor Board (CAB) and other QPTM product owners to recommend system improvements and best practices for future state application enhancements.
- Create and update system training materials, as needed, and assist with providing internal and external training for QPTM and QQM users.
- Identify, develop, and improve department business processes and workflows, creating process flow diagrams and narratives.
- Participate in the reconciliation of complex exceptions between third party pipelines, shipper nominations and confirmations, and accounting.
- Assist in the preparation of detailed data for regulatory and compliance reporting.
- Develop and maintain system documentation for QPTM and QQM.
- Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- May provide after-hours QPTM support on an exception basis.

Requirements
Qualifications
This position requires a minimum of four years of relevant work experience plus a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in business, computer science or related field . In addition, this position requires the demonstration of a high level of problem solving and proficiency in MS Office and data visualization tools.

- Possess strong business acumen with ability to work within a fast-paced environment
- Organize and manage time effectively while handling multiple priorities
- Ability to understand existing system architecture and data flows, and recommend improvements as needed for future state development
- Ability to quickly understand new and complex business processes and needs, and to translate those needs into actionable requirements
- Ability to create ad-hoc reports through database querying
- Experience creating test cases
- Ability to create and track defect tickets using Salesforce
- Experience reviewing release notes

Las Vegas: $72,900 - $105,700
