Job Description & Responsibilities
As an Associate Business Analyst, you will play a crucial role in supporting our business operations by analyzing data, identifying trends, and assisting in the development of strategies to improve efficiency and drive growth. The ideal candidate will support the operational excellence for the Portfolio Solutions Group (PSG) and establishing relationships with internal business partners. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or an early-career professional to gain hands-on experience in the field of business analyst within a specialty risk organization .
Responsibilities
- Handle large bordereau uploads (in certain cases 10K+ entries) received from MGA partners, including validating accuracy, and proactively resolve any data issues.
- Process all Facultative reinsurance certificates in the Policy Admin system.
- Work with functional areas to evaluate data requirements and ensure data requirements are appropriately captured
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and document business requirements.
- Analyze data sets to identify trends, patterns, and insights to inform decision-making.
- Assist in the creation of reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Participate in process mapping and improvement initiatives.
- Support the development and implementation of business solutions.
- Help prepare presentations and communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Maintain documentation of business processes and technical specifications.
- Actively collaborate with project management to coordinate project activities, ensuring dependencies are identified and all stakeholders are engaged and assisted
- Assist in all phases of IT projects; help ensure business implications of proposed solutions are fully vetted
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to continuous learning by actively seeking opportunities to shadow experienced colleagues and participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge in business analysis
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, IT or related field
- 1-3 years’ experience in business analysis, data analysis or related role is preferred but not required.
- Prior insurance experience is preferred (internships and academic projects are acceptable)
- Strong analytical skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Basic understanding of business processes and project management principles is desirable.
- Strong presentation skills (in person and virtual), and collaboration.
- Takes initiative, is resilient, and quickly adapts to new and evolving situations.

What we offer
Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, and skills. The base pay is just one component of Ascot’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual cash bonus, long-term incentives, and other forms of discretionary compensation awarded by the Company. The annualized base pay range for this role is: In New York - $60,000 - $70,000
